Lingonberries: scientific studies*
Lingonberries contain a significant amount of different types of polyphenols, vitamin E and manganese. According to a study, lingoberries contains 30 proanthocyanidins and flavonol glycosides 2. Lingoberries provide a more diverse array of antioxidants than bilberry.
They also contain lignans, tannins and resveratrol. The amount of resveratrol in lingonberries is similar to that found in the key ingredient of red wine and dark grapes. Lingonberries are an effective remedy for treating diseases like gastritis, gastric ulcer, renal lithiasis, uratic arthritis and rheumatism. They serve as a diuretic, choleretic, carditonic and hypotensive. They have antiseptic properties and can be used as an astringent too. Lingonberries protect healthy nervous tissue and blood vessels, resolve mineral metabolism and neutralize toxins, thereby improving digestion and toning up the body.

Scientific studies show that lingonberry's anthocyanins have many health benefits, including:
-
lowering blood pressure and help to relax arteries (1)
-
having an anti-sclerotic effect (2)
-
having anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and antihistamine that help to alleviate allergy symptoms (3)
